Garbage/Recycling Pickup Information
The following are the general guidelines and regulations governing the collection of garbage and recyclables in the Borough of Spring Lake. If you cannot find the answer to your questions here, please contact Borough Hall at (732) 449-0800.
Cut it and leave it program: The Borough does not accept any grass clippings at the curb or recycling center.
Improve the health of your lawn and save money by cutting the grass and leaving the clippings on the lawn. Grass clippings are a natural fertilizer, help retain moisture, reduce weed growth and soil erosian.
By recycling grass clippings you save the cost to transport the grass clippings to composting facilities. A 5,000 square foot lawn produces 2,000 pounds of grass clippings per year.
