ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Spring Lake Police Department is a fully staffed, 24 hour a day / 7 day a week operation. Its mission is to provide professional police protection and quality services through a strong, integrated relationship with the community. The policing strategy of the department is that of proactive policing through community involvement. The members of the department participate regularly in local fundraising activities and school events.
The Department of fourteen sworn police officers is lead by Chief Robert J. Dawson. A graduate of the FBI National Academy, Chief Dawson is fully dedicated to providing innovative and professional police service to the Borough of Spring Lake.

Our fulltime force is supplemented by approximately twelve seasonal Class I & Class II Special Officers. These officers are assigned mainly to the beachfront for the spring and summer seasons.
Our emergency communications for Police, Fire and First Aid are handled by four full time and three part time dispatchers, who also provide services for Spring Lake Heights pursuant to an Interlocal Shared Services Contract.
