Councilman John Fitzgerald began his current three year term of office on January 1, 2007 running through December 31, 2009. Mr. Fitzgerald previously served two three year terms on the Borough Council from 1985 through 1990. Mr. Fitzgerald serves as the Council Liaison to the Office of Emergency Management, the Water and Sewer Utility, the New Jersey Water Supply Authority, the Business Improvement District and the Board of Education. Councilman Fitzgerald previously served a total of eight years on the Borough Planning Board. He is the former Chairman of the Pools and Pavilions Committee, and a Downtown Revitalization Team Member.
Mr. Fitzgerald is a graduate of Seton Hall University, a former Naval Officer (Lt. USNR), 4yrs, and retired Vice President of Baxter Healthcare Corporation. He was also the founder of the Spring Lake Trolley Car Company.
